Project Management Salary Survey - Learn What You Can Earn
Knowing
your earning potential is an invaluable asset when you want to leverage
opportunities at your current job, invest in skills to raise your marketability
and plan the next phase of your career. Its also critical for organizations,
which are competing for top talent as the demand for project managers
grows.
PMIs latest
project management salary survey shows that despite the global recession,
for 51 percent of respondents, salaries are increasing. The median salary
across all countries, roles and experience levels was US$90,260. In six
major countries, holders of the Project Management Professional (PMP)®
credential earned US$10,000 more than their colleagues who did not have
the credential.
Created and
conducted by PMIs market research team, the
PMI® Project Management Salary SurveySixth
Edition measures salaries across eight major position description
levels in 19 countries. The latest survey, conducted in 2009, reflects
a greatly increased sample size for more accurate results, based on self-reported
data from nearly 35,000 project management practitioners around the world.

Thank
you Volunteers!
Last week the United
States celebrated National Volunteer Week (18-24 April), PMI recognizes
and thanks its thousands of volunteers for their hard work and service
on behalf of the project management profession and PMI.
Volunteers
are the lifeblood of PMI, moving the profession forward by:
- helping to create
globally recognized standards and credentials;
- bringing meaningful
and valuable governance and strategy;
- creating knowledge
through research projects, market surveys and symposiums and disseminating
knowledge through publications, research conferences and working sessions;
and
- leading the development
of communities and different focus areas within PMI through service
on the membership advisory boards.
There are approximately
3,200 individuals who volunteer with PMI for at least a one-year timeframe.
According to the 2009 Volunteer Satisfaction Survey, more than two-thirds
(72 percent) of volunteers are extremely or very interested in volunteering
with PMI again.
