DPC SIG Elects 2010 Board of Directors
The election for the DPC SIG Board of Directors has ended and we move
into 2010 with a very experienced board in place. Former Vice Chair Projects,
Lee Barco, continues his service on the board with his election to
First Vice Chair. The board welcomes Dr. Joseph I. Obadike who
will soon begin serving as Vice Chair Marketing.
The DPC SIG extends its thanks and best wishes to Andrew E. Powers
and Ondiappan “Ari” Arivazhagan, who have decided to step down
after many years of service to the SIG.
The 2010 board members are listed in the table below,
please feel free to send officers your thoughts on how we can improve
our SIG:
- Propose a webinar
topic or recommend a presenter.
- Submit an article
or news item for the Project Management Standard newsletter or
the monthly bulletin.

or professional development opportunity.

Presentation
Title: Change You Can Believe In
Every project has change and every project manager's success is directly
correlated to their ability to forecast, and take corrective action to
minimize the impact of such changes on the cost, schedule and quality
of a project. This presentation will explore the top reasons why change
occurs on a project and specific strategies that the successful project
manager should employ to minimize the impact of change. The presentation
is based on business process improvement engagements with some of North
America's top facility owner/operators, and the proven recommendations
that these organizations have implemented.
